UMBRA

THE STORY 

UMBRA is the House at its most distilled: a bias-cut slip in liquid black, held by the thinnest of straps, falling to the mid-calf as though poured rather than sewn. At the neckline, a plunge inset edged in fine lace interrupts the minimalism with a single line of intricacy — lingerie's vocabulary spoken in an evening register. A side slit restores movement to the narrow line. There is nowhere for the dress to hide and nothing it needs to hide; it relies, as shadows do, entirely on what casts it. 

FABRIC & COMPOSITION 

Sculpting double crepe — 95% polyester, 5% elastane; lining 96% viscose, 4% elastane, with fine lace trim 70% viscose, 30% polyamide; unlined for true bias movement. 

STYLING NOTES 

Worn alone with a heeled mule it is an evening; under a tailored blazer it is a late dinner in the city. Skin should outnumber the jewellery. 

CARE 

Professional dry clean recommended to preserve the satin's face. Hang by the straps on a padded hanger. Cool steam only — heat dulls the sheen.
